Lamborghini Miura SVJ

Car completely restored by Cremonini, mechanical and electrical equipment by Top Motors and interior by Bruno Paratelli. The car arrived at our premises partially disassembled; we first catalogued all previously removed parts and then disassembled the car completely. While we were working on the overhaul and paint job, Top Motors was repairing the mechanical assemblies and setup. The urgency of the project and its very tight schedule played a role, but the end result met the high standards of Cremonini restoration work.

DISASSEMBLY

Cataloguing the parts

Careful, thorough disassembly is the first step in restoration. It is in this phase that we are able to determine which parts are to be replaced, modified and repaired.

STRIPPING

As always, we used WWT‘s high pressure water stripping system, which ensures perfectly clean bare metal.

OVERHAULING THE PANELS

The car had undergone at least two previous restorations over the years. But despite this, the sills, fenders, luggage compartment and platforms were not in excellent condition.

CLEANING

After the overhaul, we cleaned the body panels and moving parts with low pressure corundum.

PAINTING

The panels were prepared carefully and then painted in the car’s original colour, “Rosso Granata”, which we had identified in a section of the front spoiler. The original paint was left in place, to certify the authenticity of the new colour.

ASSEMBLY

The delivery date was very close, and all our staff worked hard on the assembly and finishing. 9 June was the 50th Anniversary of the Miura, and the car had to be present at the celebrations. Everyone was waiting for the job to be finished.
